Changing your whole lifestyle can sound pretty daunting, so I've decided to break down how I've made changes to live sustainably.
1. Purchase a reusable bottle/cup
I purchased a Klean Kanteen bottle and it is honestly one of the best investments I’ve made. Ive saved up to in the thousands of plastic bottles from being used over the last three years of me using this bottle. Reusable bottles can also be purchased secondhand as well!
2. Invest in a reusable tote bag
I owned a couple tote bags from when I was growing up and was considuring donating them, but I kept them and now use them for when I go out shopping so I can avoid the plastic and paper bags!
3. Purchase clothes secondhand
there are a ton of ways to purchase clothes, to prevent from supporting fast fashion. Goodwill, Depop, etsy, Mercari, Poshmark, thredup, and eBay are just some online thrift stores to check out!
4. Purchase clothes from an environmentally friendly company
There are a few brands that make their clothing sustainable, but can be more pricey. Which is why I love the company Boody! Boody makes their clothing from bamboo, and even has sustianbly made packaging. Their clothing is amazingly soft, comfortable, and affordable.
5. Compost leftovers
composting is a great way to avoid unnecessary waste. You can start off with a compost mason jar and then transfer it over into your garden.
